“For the last 15 years William has advocated for access and protection for our open spaces. No one has been a stronger and consistent advocate or has spent as much effort working with government agencies and others to enhance public access for all users of our East Bay parks. He spends multiple days per week in our East Bay Regional Parks and has advocated for expanding trails like Bay Ridge and the proposed Niles Canyon Trail to increase hiking and biking opportunities in the Southern East Bay.”

“When wealthy property owners blackmailed the East Bay Regional Parks District into improving the roads leading to their properties near the Vargas Plateau by suing in court and in doing so denied Fremont residents access to the park for years, William was there to fight them. When NIMBY home owners near Mission Peak Park lobbied the City of Fremont into issuing parking tickets to Fremont residents who parked in their neighborhood when the tiny park parking lot overflowed, after a couple of those same NIMBYs sued the park to block an increase in the size of the parking lot because they claimed it ruined their view, William was there to fight them. William is getting my vote. If you care about maintaining local park access in the face of monied interests' ongoing attempts the deny access, he should get your vote too.”
